from my experience and limited amount of knowledge, putting your elbows forward with weight is the right form when we use a barbell where it, the weight, can rest on your shoulder, while with dumbells, the position actually puts a lot more stress and strain on your wrist. I personally would NOT do that. Especially in the long run.
@countryclassic any suggestions on good fitness books?
I do this exercise with clients, but tend to twist the dumbbell so that it doesnt hit them in the face lol

Great excercise, but bad trainer. Weights were too heavy for her. Cardio is about reps, not strength. Try using five pounders, and do like 50 reps.

Actually the body burns whichever fuel is in the front of the line…be it glucogen, protein, carbs, or fat. Fat is usually at the bootom of the list because the body is built to store fat. You can’t burn just fat till all the other stuff is deplete to a point where the *body* says “okay let’s burn some fat.”
Don’t waste your time and ‘bones’ doing cardio. Read some ‘good’ fitness books…not ‘Muscle and Fitness’ etc.

Bad. If you want to burn fat, don’t do these workouts. Burning fats come from good nutrition, and cardio exercise. CARDIO ! Not respiratory. Going for a 20 minute jogg is better then this BS.
