Half Push Ups- Exercise Tip with Clifta
This clip shows the correct way of doing half push ups. In order to make your half push ups more effective it’s important to keep your body in a straight line, stay over top of your arms, keep your core tight, elbows out, and focus on your chest while performing the exercise. If you have problems doing half push ups because they hurt your shoulders or elbows… then these tips might help you to be able to do them once again. I’ve found with alot of people I’ve helped, it’s just a matter of re-adjusting form… sometimes it’s not, but alot of time it is. Yes, you’re right… proper form is so important! Especially when you are lifting things. Well, sorry to hear that you hurt yourself. There’s usually always a way to work around injuries… you just have to find it.
And Yes… YouTube is great for information!
Well, they are from 5 years ago… just got used to doing “grunt work” (because I could), but really did not use proper “form” while lifting the objects at work. I have learned more about how important “good form” is in the last 5 years, then I ever learned in my first 39 years. I am finding Youtube a “wealth of information” in that aspect. And although I can no longer lift & carry what I used to be able to (I was an animal at work back then, lol), I do lift & carry what I can now, a lot smarter
Wow! sorry to hear about your injuries!
What did you do?
Good tips Clifta! I am recovering from a lower (lumbar) back injury (3 herniated discs), & ever since my injury, have been unable to perform a full/regular push up. These half-push ups help do help, but I even struggle with them, sometimes my right shoulder locks/pops & then aggravates my Sciatica pain, so I end up quitting at that point. Got any good ideas for specific stretches, that would make my shoulder not lock/pop while doing these half push ups? Only answer if you get time.
Thanks Clifta
