The more physically fit you get, the more calories you will burn daily. Activity has a HUGE effect on calorie burn when done after a meal. A high degree of physical fitness will improve the function of something in the body called Brown Fat. The body of someone who is active and physcially fit will work harder to burn excess calories as opposed to a less fit person who will more likely store excess calories as fat. Active people tend to eat less because aerobic activity reduces food cravings.

Boy is that ever right! These “coaches” are not qualified to be helping anyone. I’m wondering if they dole out advice to people who get hurt during their workouts? There are actually quite few other things that exericse will do to–affect–diet, blood glucose levels, appetite, mood, metabolic rate increase and on and on, besides just the calorie burn at the moment. ACTIVITY is the largest part of THAT equation by far; ..not DIET. These “coaches” are recycling bad outdated information from 1979.

    2:30

You tell everyone that that people can’t make changes if they are huge in 90 days. The truth is these people were huge and they did make those changes in 90 days.

I haven’t purchased the program. I was given it. Sure the items you talk about in 4:30 are alkso true, but they go over that in the program. p90X is 80% diet in terms of effectiveness.

you and I both know that no matter what you do, if you dont watch what and when you eat it you will fail. so why debunk p90x when its good?

  • HealthyJoeful says:

That sucks but I’m not posting it.

sell protein powder/recovery formula. Some coaches claim they achieved such great results because of the recovery drink. It gets me so angry to read some of the crap on this coach’s site.

  • p90x4lifewaswrong says:

Low Carb will actually do the opposite of what you want: It will result in the most Muscle loss. He also said results are 80% diet and 20% exercise. I hate when idiots make such bold statements like this. If you’re on weight loss and want a 500 calorie deficit per day and you burn up 100 thru exercise, then YES it is 80% diet. But if you workout more, you can eat more. So its closer to 50/50. And muscle GAIN is 100% working out. This is just an example of the crap these coaches teach in order

  • p90x4lifewaswrong says:

I just made a visit to one of these “coach’s” websites and within the first second on the page I noticed inaccuracies. The article was about “The secret to Ripped Abs” By Coach (will go unnamed). This is some of the crap it said

    1) You need to workout the “entire core”, like in the core Synergistics workout.
    2) You need to have the “proper diet” (as this coach called it which is 20% fat/30% carbs/50% protein. According to this “coach” a low carb diet will allow for the fastest fat loss.

  • HealthyJoeful says:

LOL who said I was trying to tell anyone anything? I stated my opinion and you both try attacking me. You have nothing on me. Stfu already

  • p90x4lifewaswrong says:

That’s not the point. We have a far better understanding of health and fitness than you. And YOU”RE trying to tell US how it is!

  • HealthyJoeful says:

Dude, I never agreed with Tony on anything. Stop putting words in my mouth. Neither of you are accomplishing anything. You have nothing more to say.

  • p90x4lifewaswrong says:

@HealthyJoeful Brushfour DOES have an argument and presented in a manner that you do not understand because of what you’ve heard from Tony Horton.

  • TheAtomicDon says:

Took about 21 minutes, so a 7 minute mile and that’s pretty much what I’ve been running. I would say that’s pretty great! Tomorrow I’m going downhill/cross country skiing. That’s one of the best exercises you can do. I also did some weightlifting. So with all of that said how about coming up w/ a workout plan? That’s what I do. That’s all p90x is. It might not be the best but it is still a plan to get you into shape. So stop bickering, pick a good plan FOR YOU! and do it!

  • TheAtomicDon says:

It’s unbelievable the amount of comments this vid receives. People against it, for it, It’s OK, It’s the best thing ever blah, blah, blah. I read these and think that they are saying the same thing. Think of all the time lost writing and bitching about it. On Wednesday I rode the Spinner for 30 minutes. That’s good. Yesterday I rode to work in 30 degree weather wearing 13 pounds of gear on the crappiest bike ever. Took 40 min. On the way home, 30 min. Hell of a workout!
Today I ran for 3 miles

  • HealthyJoeful says:

@brushfour. You are simply not understanding what I am saying. First of all, don’t even try throwing MY name in the chat of a workout and what I think is hardcore it not. I never said I believe p90x was supreme to all workouts or it would be impossible to get a better body elsewhere. You are just re-instating the facts of our second part of this conversation. Now the talk is over and you’re still desperately trying to talk about god know what! Like I said, you have no arguement.

  • p90x4lifewaswrong says:

You’re so full of crap Joe. You brought up the whole grammar thing in the first place. This is a forum dedicated to athletes who are pushing their bodies thru HIIT, heavy squatting, benching, and pressing and people who understand exactly WHY results are occuring.

  • HealthyJoeful says:

This coming from the guy who just misspelled the word “grammar.” Will you stop trying to be an English teacher? This is YouTube. I’m not starting a “grammar and punctuation arguement” on a health/fitness video.

  • brushfour says:

” Both my grammar and punctuation ARE perfect ” dumbass. Try using proper punctuation like Capital letters, commas, and periods from time to time and you won’t come off like a sixth grader. I recognized that immediately and you’re welcome. But then again, if you say your so deep into physical fitness, and the best workout you can implement so far is an infomercial exercise program, you haven’t evolved very far. You’d never be able understand or navigate anything more sophisticated.

  • socxer says:

Joe, look, you have some good points; P90X is definitely NOT optimal. One thing, though, the point of the program is that you DO do it in your living room. This might be for people who don’t have access to a gym, or are socially not ready to go to a gym. Your tone in the video is that the program is totally bunk, but while it may not be optimal, it is a great start for a lot of people who need that extra push to get started!

  • HealthyJoeful says:

    its “grammar” btw…

  • HealthyJoeful says:

Let’s not even make this a conversation, agreed?

  • HealthyJoeful says:

Lmao, my grammar and punctuation is perfect. :) Thank you for recognizing it!

  • kheldarr says:

i have never heard tony down steve…….

  • brushfour says:

HealthyJoeful, I’ve read your posts. You mention typo’s?? Check your OWN punctuation before writing that. I usually don’t care about stuff like that since of course it’s just a Youtube posting board, but you brought it up first. Your grammer is awful.

  • HealthyJoeful says:

hahaha alright we can agree on that ;) cya ’round

  • p90x4lifewaswrong says:

come on dude, someone who can’t even afford a PC isn’t going to invest in an infomercial program. Let’s be fair here. Supplements are not even necessary.
